An Importance of Ration Card

A ration card is a proof for permanent Indian Citizen. It is used under the authority of State Government, where the ration card details and ration card information is provided to the people at their nearest rationing center.

Types of Ration Card- State Government issues three types of ration card

1. APL Card (Above poverty line)- These cards are white in colour.
2. BPL Card (Below poverty line)- These cards are in blue in colour.
3. AAY (Antyodaya Families/ Very poor families)- These cards in Yellow in colour.

Ration Cards Importance-

1. A ration card details a lot of information about an Indian citizen and his family.
2. Ration Card is necessary for permanent address proof
3. Ration Card is valid for address proof in passport department
4. Ration Card is valid for address proof in RTO Department
5. Ration Card is necessary document for obtaining the domicile certificate.
6. Ration Card is also necessary for Date of birth/ age proof.

 Necessary documents for obtaining the Ration Card-

1. Ones have to submit one address proof that could be telephone bill, electric bill, bank pass book etc.
