Staff Selection Commission announced to hold Combined Graduate Level Examination 2012 for recruitment to different posts. SSC CGL Exam 2012 will comprise of 2 tiers of written objective type examinations.

ssc.nic.in CGL Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must be Indian citizen as per the rules of Government of India to apply for SSC Combined Graduate Level Exam 2012.

SSC CGL Age Limit (as on 1st January, 2012):

Name of the Posts – Age Limit

Assistant/Sub Inspector in CBI – 20 to 27 years
Statistical Investigator Gr. II – not more than 26 years
For all posts – 18 to 27 years


SSC CGL 2012 Educational Qualification:

Form Compiler: Bachelor’s Degree with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject from any recognized University is necessary to apply for SSC CGL Exam 2012.

For Statistical Investigator Grade – II: candidates should have a degree of Bachelor with Statistics or with Mathematics or with Economics or with Commerce as one of the main subjects to apply for SSC Combined Graduate Level Exam 2012.

For All Other Posts: candidates must have a bachelor degree from a recognized university to apply for ssc.nic.in CGL 2012.

Computer proficiency is required for the post of Assistant (CSS). Final year candidates of Bachelor’s degree can also apply but they should acquire the prescribed qualification on or before 1st August, 2012.

ssc.nic.in CGL Recruitment Method:

Attempt of Examination – Types of Examination

Tier-I – Written Test (Objective Type of MCQs)
Tier-II – Written Exam (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
Tier-III – Personality Test/Interview/CPT or Skill Test


SSC CGL 2012 Tier-I examination will have questions from General Intelligence, Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension for total 200 questions and maximum 200 marks for the duration of 2 hours (for VH 2 hours 40 minutes).

SSC CGL Tier-II 2012 examination consists of Quantitative Abilities with total 100 questions and maximum 200 marks to solve in the duration of 2 hours (For VH 2 hours and 40 minutes). There will be a second paper for English Language Comprehension also for 200 marks. Exam pattern for other posts Statistical Investigator Grade-II are also updated in details.

SSC CGL Exam Date 2012:

SSC CGL Tier-I exam date is confirmed in two schedules – 1st July and 8th July, 2012. SSC CGL Tier-II exam 2012 is scheduled on 15th and 16th September, 2012.

How to Apply:

SSC CGL Application Fee:

Candidates have to pay Rs. 100 as application fee for SSC CGL Exam 2012. SC/ST/PWD/EXSM and all women candidates are exempted from the application fee.

Candidates have to pay application fees by means of “Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS)” only for Paper or Offline Applications. CRFS stamps can be obtained from Departmental Post Offices of the Country.

For Online Applications, candidates should pay the requisite fee only through State Bank of India Challan or on-line account with SBI. Candidates can generate Challan Form filling SSC CGL 2012 Online Application.

SSC CGL 2012 Application Form:

Candidates can download SSC CGL 2012 Application Form from: http://ssc.nic.in/notice/examnotice/Final%20Application%20Form%20CGLE,2012.pdf and take a print out. They have to fill SSC CGL 2012 Application Form in the prescribed format and send it to the appropriate address during the given period.

SSC CGL 2012 Online Application Form:

Candidates can use either: ssconline.nic.in/registration/mainmenu2.php or www.sscregistration.sifyitest.com to apply online. They need to fill: www.sscregistration.sifyitest.com SSC CGL 2012 Online Form in the prescribed format.

There are two parts - Part I Registration and Part II Registration for SSC CGL 2012 Online Registration. Candidates have to fill basic information in the Part I Registration. After the successful submission of SSC CGL 2012 Part I Registration using ssconline.nic.in or www.sscregistration.sifyitest.com, candidates will get SMS containing Registration Number.

Candidates have to submit payment details and upload photograph and signature during the Part II Registration. SSC CGL Online Application 2012: www.sscregistration.sifyitest.com is incomplete without Part II Registration.
